2018 Supported Organizations

University of Toronto

The Daven Seebarran Social Advocacy Award supports an undergraduate University College student who has demonstrated an interest in and intention to participate in activities promoting social advocacy as part of the student’s extracurricular involvement. This award is intended to assist the student with travelling abroad.

Cecil Centre

Cecil Community Centre is a not-for-profit, multi-service neighbourhood centre that offers a broad range of recreational, educational, social, cultural and capacity-building programs to local area residents. For almost 40 years, the Centre has played a vital role in the lives of community members of all ages.

The AMY Project

The AMY Project offers free performing arts training programs serving young women and non-binary youth. AMY breaks down barriers to participation by providing meals and transportation; accessible, queer and trans inclusive and anti-racist environments; one-on-one mentorship; and more.

MABELLEarts

MABELLEarts is driven by their love of people and fascination with neglected and forgotten places.  They make art and build environments that foster community regeneration and invention.  We are proud to support the MABELLEarts Neighbourhood Summer Camp and their Iftar Nights Celebration.

Peel HIV/AIDS Network

For over two decades, Peel HIV/AIDS Network has provided a growing array of health promotion, education, social and support services for people in Peel.  PHAN provided Daven with his first professional opportunity.  Daven supports several programs at PHAN.
